More of the End

Appendix B, which is located at the end of The Return of the King, gives a nice long timeline of events, one of which gives an account of the events following the end of the trilogy, all the way up to the death of Aragorn. I personally enjoyed reading this, because I liked seeing the broad events of the rest of the Company after Frodo left. Does this list of events ruin the novel's ending for you, or are you glad to have that extra information?

I feel like the extra information helps to make the story more realistic. The story isnt just simply over, the lives of the characters continue on after the end of the trilogy. It makes the characters seem like real people in history and makes the story just a small chapter in the lives of the characters.

The extra information did a bit to help me understand the whole trilogy. It educated me more on the characters and helped me draw a conclusion on who they really are, finally after reading the whole trilogy.

I agree that the extra information makes the characters I really enjoyed in the books seem to have a conclusion to them for me. To know more about Aragorn and Arwen is something that interested me the most. I'm a girl and I like a good love story with a happy ending.

I agree that I loved the additional information. It is rare to get given all that information at the end of a novel like this. I wish more authors would do this.

It's not that I "enjoyed" Appendix B, but it certainly helped my understanding of the entire series, and helped to put a more realistic touch to the stories. However, I kind of enjoyed the awkward ending we were given, it left the reader to imagine so much more for the charcetrs on their own.
