Thanks for finding the Leonard Nimoy video. I saw a reference to it a while back on television and as a trekkie I thought that this was hilarious. If you notice he is also sporting the Spock haircut and the setting of the video is similar to the set that Star Trek used for the planet scenes. William Shatner was also singing around this time or later (I'm not sure) and his videos are just as funny.
I found the CD's you were talking about. Spaced out the best of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. That's probably where this song came from.
Shatner also made a CD in 2004 with bands like Henry Rollins, Ben Folds Five, and Aimee Mann. It's pretty much the bands doing the music and chorus and Shatner doing spoken word over it.
And from what I've heard of it doesn't suck.
I saw the Leonard Nimoy video for the first time months ago and the memory still haunts me. What were you thinking, Nimoy?
